Concord Academy’s fall sports season was predominantly successful, with teams finishing the season with decent records and others thriving. The boys and girls cross country and boys varsity soccer programs particularly exemplified this success in their participation in the Eastern Independent League (EIL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships. Whether battling on the field or diving across the courts, CA athletes put in their best effort and made this fall season one to remember.
One key highlight of the fall season was the Chandler Bowl for Changing Lives, CA’s annual athletics competition against Pingree School, where both teams fight to capture the bowl by winning a minimum of five out of eight games. This season, CA proudly reclaimed the bowl with a 6-2 win against Pingree, with all winning teams securing shutout victories. Now, let’s take a closer look at each team’s overall performance this fall.
The Girls Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Volleyball, Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, and Varsity Field Hockey teams showcased hard work and determination through this season. For instance, Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball proudly concluded their season with a record of 9-1-0. The other three teams each ended the season winning four EIL league games, with Girls Varsity Soccer earning 9th place and Varsity Field Hockey and Girls Varsity Volleyball both finishing 7th place in the EIL league standings.
Moreover, the Boys Soccer program — Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Thirds — was very successful this fall. The Junior Varsity team concluded the season with an excellent EIL league record of 9-3-2. Likewise, the Thirds team closed off the season with a record of 5-3-2. Additionally, Boys Varsity Soccer had an outstanding season; with an overall record of 12-2-3, the team made it to the EIL semifinals and NEPSAC quarterfinals.
Finally, another impressive season was showcased by the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams at CA. The girls’ team won against nine schools throughout a total of six meets, excluding the NEPSTA championship, placing sixth at their EIL league championships, with a couple of runners qualifying for NEPSTAs. Similarly, the boys' team won against 17 schools throughout their six meets, excluding NEPSTAs, placing first at the EIL league championships to reclaim their trophy for the first time since the 2023 season, with multiple runners qualifying for NEPSTAs as well.
Ultimately, the 2025 fall athletics season at CA was rather successful as multiple teams concluded the season with superb records — some qualifying for the EIL league and NEPSAC championships. More importantly, the unity and spirit portrayed by each team made this season memorable. With unforgettable moments such as the Chandler Bowl, this fall season was a special start to the CA athletics year, and athletes and fans are now excited for the winter and spring sports seasons.
