The Chandler Bowl for Changing Lives is an annual fall sporting event between Concord Academy and rival school Pingree School to raise money for a charity. This year, funds went to a nonprofit called Beverly Bootstraps. The Chandler Bowl is always a day full of school spirit and competition, and is one of the most exciting fall sporting events.
Coming off a victory in the 2024 season, CA fans and athletes arrived at Pingree on October 19, 2025, with high energy and enthusiasm. On this beautiful Saturday afternoon, many fans took a shuttle from CA to watch games and cheer on our school, creating a great environment for competition.
Eight of the fall sports teams competed in the Chandler Bowl, earning one point with every win. At the end of the event, the school with five or more points takes home the bowl. This year, the teams competing in the Chandler Bowl were Boys Varsity Soccer, Boys JV Soccer, Girls Cross Country, Boys Cross Country, Girls Varsity Volleyball, Girls JV Volleyball, Girls Varsity Soccer, and Girls Varsity Field Hockey. Six of these eight teams were victorious against Pingree, with final scores of: Boys Varsity Soccer 3-0, Boys JV Soccer 2-0, Girls Varsity Volleyball 3-0, and Girls JV Volleyball 2-0.
These successes clinched the 6-2 victory for CA for the eighth time over the past nine years. Not only did this victory keep the streak alive for CA teams and athletes, but it will continue to inspire this fierce competition in future Chandler Bowls.
For certain teams, defeating Pingree was worth more than just a point for CA but was also a major leap for their program. When asked about their meet, Girls XC runner Ellie Adams ’27 explained: “Winning the Chandler Bowl meet was a big step for the girls XC team, as we hadn't won in seven or eight years. We've gotten so much stronger as a program this year, and our win proved that for us.” She also elaborated on the atmosphere of the day, adding, “The XC course at the Chandler Bowl wove through the soccer fields, and seeing the soccer teams working hard as I ran past pushed me to work harder myself.”
Next year, the 2026 Chandler Bowl will be hosted at CA, and another charity will be selected to fundraise for. It will continue to promote friendly competition against Pingree, encourage athletes, and build a strong sense of community at. Go Green!
