After nearly a decade we’re finally hearing back from our favorite bunny and fox duo. Zootopia 2, a fast-paced and entertaining sequel to the 2016 film Zootopia, premiered on November 26, 2025 in the United States. After nine years, Disney brings its audience back to the land of Zootopia, where different animals live together in harmony. This film focuses on rookie cop Judy Hopps and wolf Nick Wilde as they track down a sinister criminal reptile while being framed for attempting to murder Chief Bogo. Throughout their adventures, these two partners form unexpected friendships, shatter biases, and deepen their ever-evolving bond.

This movie broadens the horizons of Zootopia, and dives deeply into the creation of the fantastical city. Along the way, viewers also get to witness unique areas of the word, such as the mysterious Marsh Market where reptiles dwell or the vast, festive savanna where the plot reaches an engaging climax. Additionally, the bright and contrasting colors used in the film enhances the audience's visual experience. Like in Zootopia, each scene is carefully crafted with details that fit the different animals displayed in the movie.

Furthermore, the audience gets a glimpse into the underlying politics and ideals that are prevalent in the city of Zootopia. Animals who live in the city view reptiles as dangerous enemies all because a single snake killed an animal—which took place decades ago. A reputable family announced the death, and the denizens of Zootopia immediately accepted it without questions. The prominent bias against reptiles that resulted from the murder remained until the events in Zootopia 2.

The theme of bias was introduced in the previous film, where conflict arose between the herbivores and carnivores of Zootopia due to a series of incidents where carnivores became deranged and insane, wounding countless herbivores. However, Disney does a great job nuancing the two examples of bias—the prejudice in the first Zootopia grew rapidly due to the natural fear herbivores had of carnivores, while the bias in Zootopia 2 stood as a result of ignorance. The citizens of Zootopia chose to accept their history instead of investigating further to find the truth. Had Judy Hopps been like everyone else, the truth would have remained hidden forever.

The dream team also manages to overcome their differences in the new film. Judy almost parts ways with Nick because of their drastically different perspectives on the world. For a moment, it seems like their relationship will fail. However, as Nick finally tells Judy, “I don't care that we're different. What I care about...is you.” The sly Nick and the confident yet idealistic Judy are finally able to disregard their differences and truly cooperate—then crack the case!

This imaginative and captivating world of animals has been truly brought to life by Zootopia 2. Make sure to catch it in theaters!
