After a well-deserved winter break, Concord Academy is delighted to welcome its students back to the spring semester. Abundant with engaging courses and activities, people are excited to be back. Here is a list of activities that you should definitely look forward to during the rest of this school year.

Dances: In the spring semester, there are a number of dances, each with a unique theme. The highly anticipated semi-formal will take place on Saturday, February 2. This year’s theme for semi-formal is masquerade; participants are advised to dress in silver and gold, and there will even be fancy masks provided at the dance. It is going to be such a great theme, much more unique in my opinion than last year’s winter wonderland. The first-ever lunar new year dance will likely take place on the evening of Sunday, February 22. The final dance of the year, formal, will take place in May. Come out to these dances with gorgeous attire and dance your anxiety away!

Performances: The performing arts department has numerous performances scheduled for this semester. The winter main stage, The Impracticality of Modern Day Mastodons, will be live on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the week of February 15. Come out to see Donny the mastodon, the first CA mastodon in history. A week later is the winter Dance Project performance. In May, there will be an end of the year performance of both dance and music. Keep an eye out for these performances to support your friends!

Other Activities:  Right after March break, the annual senior-run Coffeehouse will be held on Saturday, March 28. Come out for exciting performances and many (maybe too many) jokes! Along with that, prepare to see potential new students on revisit days in late March. Watch out for the revisit day guide form to fill out if you'd like to adopt one of them for the day.

I hope these events will help you through the tough semester–remember to have fun while working hard! Balance is incredibly important if you want to have a great time at CA. I cannot wait to see the winter main stage, for many of my friends will be in the play. Besides, I am really wondering what is the impracticality of a modern-day mastodon (apart from its obvious size that will go far from unnoticed in the room).
